Ensuring safe and efficient shipping for their 17-kilogram swivel bases was crucial to maintaining customer satisfaction and reducing the rate of returns. Challenge

The challenge was to find an optimized packaging solution for the heavy and bulky swivel bases. The previous packaging, a standard box with plenty of padding material, was impractical and time-consuming. Additionally, there were recurring issues with the sensitive handle of the swivel base, which often arrived damaged. Camp Venture needed a more efficient solution that would simplify the shipping process while keeping costs under control.

Solution

BOXXCO developed an innovative packaging solution perfectly tailored to the needs of Camp Venture. The new shipping box now consists of a flat, pre-cut, and pre-scored double-walled sheet, specifically designed to fit the swivel base. An additional pre-cut piece protects the handle and acts as a spacer within the packaging. The opposite corners are protected with blue padding corners that can be easily slipped on. This new solution reduces the number of necessary handling steps and minimizes the risk of transport damage.

Implementation

The implementation of the new packaging solution went smoothly and quickly. Thanks to the close collaboration between Camp Venture and BOXXCO, the packaging was optimally adapted to the specific requirements of the swivel bases. A one-meter drop test confirmed the stability of the new packaging, and the time required for packing was also significantly reduced.

Packaging material was reduced by about a third.
