Sustainability
Sustainability runs through our everyday lives and plays a particularly important role in the area of packaging. There are numerous possibilities and also obligations for mail-order companies and customers, which it is important to know about.
How do I dispose of my shipping cartons correctly? Which material belongs in which bin? What do I have to consider?
Disposing of cardboard is quite simple. Either throw it in the blue bin or in one of the grey cardboard containers in your neighbourhood. Exceptional products that do not belong in the Blue Bin are plastic-coated cardboard, all kinds of beverage packaging, sales slips, soiled or wet paper, wax-coated cardboard and baking papers and napkins.
As soon as a larger amount of cardboard is generated, you can request a cardboard container through various disposal companies. Depending on the company, there may be special regulations regarding what can be thrown into this container.
The recycling system helps to ensure that cardboard is recycled. Recyclable cardboard is marked with the Resy symbol. This is only on transport and outer packaging made of 100% paper. Plastic-coated cardboard must remain within a certain limit for the plastic content in the cardboard and the plastic content must be detachable from the paper.
Cardboard boxes must be registered and licensed. When traders take back the cartons, they have to ensure that the cardboard is recycled.
Cartons can be licensed easily and quickly at Lizenzero .
Depending on the market situation, costs may also be incurred for disposal.
While money is paid for disposal in the recycling system, free disposal is possible through the Green Dot, a well-known symbol from the dual system. For this, used shipping packaging[1] is collected at a central point and recycled together. This is particularly relevant for our products, such as stretch and bubble films and our film mailing bags.
As soon as goods are shipped with sales packaging[2], you are obliged to participate in the dual system by simply licensing the cardboard packaging on the official Green Dot website.
The Green Dot can only be found on sales packaging, but does not necessarily have to be marked on the carton.
Another badge to protect the environment is the FSC mark, an internationally valid certification system for forest management. FSC stands for "Forest Stewardship Council" and helps to preserve forests and limit uncontrolled deforestation.
Cardboard with this seal comes from sustainably managed forests.
And these are all good reasons why you should dispose of your cardboard carefully. Not only to keep the environment clean, but also to preserve our forests so that everyone can continue to enjoy their walks through beautiful nature.
