PolarPads Cooling Mats Basic
Space-saving in storage, functional and safe in use! Our innovative PolarPads are about 8x more efficient than gel packs at absorbing heat, resulting in better protection of temperature-sensitive shipments. They do not cause freezer burn even when in direct contact with food, making them ideal for transporting perishable products that require refrigeration , such as mushrooms, truffles, meat, seafood, dairy products, chocolate, fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc.
After the cold packs are watered and frozen, they are ready for use in refrigerated transportation.

Activation of the cooling elements
Place the PolarPads in a water bath. After approx. 20 minutes the cells are swollen. They can now be frozen in the freezer for at least 12 hours (recommended 24 hours), depending on the application, down to minus -79° Celsius.
Our recommendation
- Cover or wrap the product completely with PolarPads.
- Avoid cavities in the shipping package, these shorten the cooling time.
- When freezing the Basic-Pads, make sure that the two plastic sides are placed on top of each other (not the fleece side otherwise sticks together).
Calculation of the required quantity of cooling elements
The length and width of the package divided by 6.5 gives the number of PolarPads cells.
Example:
Package length 40 cm | 40:6.5 = 6.1 cells
Package width 30 cm | 30:6.5 = 4.6 cells
6.1 cellsx4.6 cells = 28 cells
