Preserving tradition in difficult times

Statement on Shrove Tuesday

Carnival has a long tradition and great significance in our region, too, and it was all the more difficult in recent years when the pandemic meant that we had to do without it.
With the number of infections dropping, hopes were high that this year we would be able to stick to traditions again. Unfortunately, in view of the situation in Ukraine, the mood did not allow for carefree celebrations.
In a small circle of colleagues, we did not miss the opportunity to spend the working day in minimal costume and a last common meal before Lent.
With the statement [STOPWAR] we want to show solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine and express hope for a quick end to the fighting.
